Sexual Harassment and Abusive Conduct Prevention Training

Updated On: Aug 25, 2021

California law now requires that all employers of 5 or more employees provide 1 hour of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to nonsupervisory employees, and 2 hours of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to supervisory employees, once every two years.

The state law allows Training Trusts such as ours to administer the harassment and abusive conduct training.

Due to the nature of our industry where we work for many employers, rather than doing this training for every new job you will only have to take it once. The Training Trust will administer the online training and also store your record of completion for two years in case an employer asks for proof of certificate.

By providing this service we can limit the number of times an employee has to complete this training, and also relieve the employers from administering this task to every new hire.

We encourage everyone to take the two hour supervisory training. This will cover anyone who wants to be a Steward or work as a Head of Department.

DFEH is now offering a free online training that satisfies this requirement. The link can also be found on the Local 16 website under Training Trust.

Please complete as soon as possible, save it to your computer, and email your certificate to training@local16.org
